What days are you available?

How often should I have a session?

I am available for in-person sessions at my office in downtown Vancouver on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays or virtual sessions from Sunday to Thursday.
This is something that we can collaborate on together. Some clients prefer to come every week while others prefer once a month and this can also change throughout our time working together. We can work together to decide what is best for you.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

What should I expect in my first session?

If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or simply want to understand yourself better, therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis — therapy is for anyone seeking support, growth, or healing. A consultation can help you decide if it’s the right fit.
The first session is about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to get out of the process. You’re welcome to go at your own pace — there’s no pressure to share anything until you feel comfortable.

What is the difference between counselling and therapy?

What is the difference between a psychologist and a therapist/counsellor?

These terms are often used interchangeably. Generally, they are referring to the same practice, which and either be short-term support for specific issues, or deeper, longer-term work. I offer both, depending on your needs.
A psychologist has a doctoral degree and may offer assessments along with therapy. A therapist or counsellor (like myself) holds a master’s degree and focuses on talk or somatic therapy. Both can support a wide range of mental health concerns.

How long does it usually take to see results?

How does online therapy compare to in-person therapy?

It depends on your goals, what you are hoping to get our of therapy and the challenges you’re working through. Some people notice changes after a few sessions, while deeper work can take longer. We’ll regularly check in on your progress and adjust as needed.
Online therapy is just as effective for many people and offers added comfort and flexibility. Some prefer in-person sessions for the face-to-face connection. I offer both and can help you decide what’s best for you.

How much does a counselling session cost?

Is counselling covered by insurance in BC?

A 1 hour individual client session is $175.00. Different therapists charge different fees based on time in practice and specialized training. I do offer limited space for sliding scale, please inquire if finances are causing you a barrier towards receiving counselling and we can discuss some options.
Within BC, insurance providers often offer some coverage for counselling with a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Please inquire directly with your service provider for details. I do not offer direct billing, this means you will pay me directly and submit your invoices for reimbursement from your insurance provider.

Do you offer couples or family counselling sessions?

Are counselling sessions confidential in Canada?

At this time, I work with individual adults only. While I don’t offer couples or family therapy, I often support individuals who are navigating relationship challenges, family dynamics, or communication issues. If you're looking for a couples or family therapist, I’d be happy to refer you to trusted colleagues who specialize in that work.
Yes, therapy sessions are confidential in Canada. Therapists are legally and ethically required to protect your privacy. Information you share will not be disclosed without your consent, except in rare cases such as risk of serious harm, suspected abuse, or when required by law. I will explain these limits in your first session.
